College History

Upon approval by the governmental authorities in October 1992, Penang Adventist Hospital established the Adventist College of Nursing and commenced offering a Three-year Diploma Nursing program in September 1993. In September 1994, the 15-month conversion program to convert the existing nursing aides to assistant nurses was started. A total of 3 batches of assistant nurses were trained. This conversion program was stopped and replaced by the 24-month Assistant Nurse Certificate Course which started in January 1998 and ceased in 2019.

Since its inception over 25 years ago, ACNHS, the only tertiary level Adventist educational institution in Malaysia, fulfils its commitment to ensuring quality Adventist health care education. More than 1500 alumni are employed in variety of health care position throughout Malaysia and over a dozen countries around the world.

The college renamed the Adventist College of Nursing and Health Sciences (ACNHS) since January 1, 2011, proud of its excellent reputation for preparing graduates to pass the national licensure examinations and to practice as registered nursing professionals.
